Squatters on Sacred Land
Updated: Jul 19, 2019
This post being written by First Nations authors, you might gander a guess at where this post is headed. But if you know us personally, you know we just might surprise you. In fact, this blog is not about land stolen from Indigenous people throughout the Americas. In fact, it's not about stolen land at all.
Rather, it is about the most important piece of real estate in the universe. Let us turn our eyes toward Jerusalem's Temple Mount - the direction toward which YHWH tells us to pray.
Ps 5:7 "But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy; in fear of You (and not them) I will worship toward Your holy temple."
The above Scripture was written before there was ever a Temple built! Even so, the anticipation of it was there. And now again during this generation, the anticipation of the Temple has returned. But the Land is occupied.
Legally, the Temple Mount belongs to the state of Israel. And you might be surprised to learn that legally, the Jewish people have the right to go and pray on the Temple Mount. So why do we see time and time again Jews and Christians arrested on the Temple Mount for silently moving their lips in prayer? Great question. Its answer defies all logic:
Specifically, fear of man. Fear of the uprising of the global community. Fear of war. Fear of being the cause of loss of human life.
This is the very place where our prayers should be ascending to the Elohim [God] of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Yet the prayers to YHWH are prohibited by a foreign power, enforced by the Waqf, a Jordanian-funded police force wielding near-dictatorial level powers on the Temple Mount in direct opposition to the law of the land of Israel. Yet the arrests persist and the Waqf police return each day to their shifts, unchallenged in their job security. Why the Israeli government is satisfied with the status quo is beyond my mind's comprehension.
Imagine a foreign power with a police force within the borders, exercising authority in arresting American citizens for doing something that American law actually gives the right to do. Oh, wait! We don't have to imagine that. We actually do have Sharia Law police forces being set up within U.S. borders, on patrol in America. Anyway, back to the Temple Mount.
The Muslims, the Waqf, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Dome of the Rock - they are all squatters on the Holy Temple Mount. Everyone has a place on earth. But their place is not on the Temple Mount.
For the time being, America has significant worldwide influence. While we have it, we should be using it for Kingdom of Light purposes. We should be speaking out about the right of Jews, Christians and Messianics to pray at the Temple Mount. We should be encouraging our governing officials to stand in support and encouragement of the Israeli government to exercise sovereignty on the Temple Mount. We should be praying that the only presence on the Temple Mount will be a Holy One.
And we should be asking for His Messiah to rule and reign from His Holy Hill.
"This is what the LORD of Hosts says: 'I am jealous for Zion with great zeal; I am jealous for her with great fervor.'” ~ Zechariah 8:2
THE RIVERWIND'S SPEECH AT THE 1st TEMPLE MOUNT CONFERENCE IN JERUSALEM
May we have a zeal for your presence, O Holy One of Zion. And may we see Your presence on your Holy Hill in our lifetime.
