The Feast of Shavuot/Pentecost & Revival Fire

Updated: Jun 1, 2020

The Appointed Time of Shavuot, called Pentecost in the New Testament, will be celebrated all around the world with denominations uniting on this specific feast day to commemorate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. This Appointed Time falls on the 50th day after the Feast of First Fruits, which is when Yeshua (Jesus) was raised from the dead. (Not Easter). According to Scripture, we are instructed to count up the days with anticipation of an encounter with The Creator on the 50th day. This is why it's called Pentecost in the New Testament from the Greek language meaning 50. On the first Shavuot (Pentecost), The Creator gave His instructions for living in a sacred manner. This is called the Torah (The Law/Instructions) which was given to the Jews and the Gentiles that were among them.

Exodus 12:49 “One Torah/Law for the natural-born and the gentiles among you."

The Torah/Law is also the Ketubah (marriage contract) that is the official betrothal of YHWH’s people and Himself that was presented in front of witnesses at the base of Mount Sinai. This ketubah includes all the promises and blessings of being married to the Bridegroom, which includes the duties of the husband towards his bride. The glory cloud was the covering, also known as Chuppah, which contains the prophetic shadow picture of Jew and Gentile being One in Messiah under the new covenant for every nation and tribe.

Jeremiah 2:2 "Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the Lord, I remember thee, the kindness of your youth, the love of your BETHROTHAL when you went after me in the wilderness in a land that was not sown"

The ketubah becomes the promise of marriage or in other words a betrothal. In a biblical wedding, after the ketubah is given to the the bridegroom he leaves to prepare a house for his bride but he is still under the promises made to the bride to be. This is why Yeshua said:

John 14:2 “There is more than enough room in my Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?”

On the appointed time the bridegroom announces his return for his bride by blowing a shofar. Letting her know that he is coming for her! Sound familiar? It happens on another Biblical Holy Day - The Feast of Trumpets which the New Testament says we will not be caught by surprise when The Bridegroom comes. Why? because when you go to the wedding rehearsals (The Feasts of The LORD) you know where to be, at what time to be there, and even what you are supposed to be wearing.

In the Old Testament and the New Testament there is still something that must occur. The marriage has not been consummated. Spiritually, we are BETROTHED to YHWH when we accept Messiah as The BrideGroom. We are LEGALLY married as a member of The Kingdom and family of YHWH. Keep in mind that The Messiah has not returned for His Bride which is when the betrothal is completed in its fullness.

In marriage two become one and we see this in Acts 2:1 "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with ONE ACCORD in ONE PLACE". The Israelite's and the gentiles were at the base of Mt. Sinai where they were all camped as ONE people in ONE place. YHWH gave the Torah/Law as the marriage contract in the Old Testament and in the New Testament that same marriage contract, The Law, is now written upon our hearts and minds.

Romans 2:15, “They demonstrate that God's law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right."

Yes, we are no longer UNDER the Law because it is now WITHIN us from the moment we said "Yes" to the proposal. This is why The Law is an eternal promise and contract with His people. Because YHWH will NEVER divorce you and He sent His only Son to seal the marriage with His blood.

Psalm 119:160 “All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.”

Be careful that you do not go after false doctrines of demons that promote lawlessness. Freedom in Messiah doesn’t allow you to do whatever you want by pulling the greasy Grace card. Do not walk according to the flesh! It is contrary to the marriage contract that you spiritually signed when you accepted the bridegroom's redemption at the execution stake lest you commit spiritual adultery. Don’t forget that 3000 people died because they worshipped the golden calf and for celebrating a false holiday in Exodus AFTER THEY HAD BEEN SAVED. In Creator’s infinite wisdom and restorative mercy, that same number was redeemed in Acts when the Holy Spirit fell on 3000 people on the anniversary celebration of the first Shavuot/Pentecost!

Cleanse and purify yourself of traditions of men, doctrines of men and holidays of the world and instead turn to Holy Days of YHWH, the rehearsals for the wedding to come! Pray for a great spiritual harvest as people walk into congregations, churches, fellowships, and gatherings for the first time or for those who are returning. The Holy Spirit moves beyond the man-made boundaries of denominations so please do not put limitations on what The Creator can do to bring His people home. Rather, let the fire of the Holy Spirit burn away those things that are not of Him so that you can be presented as a bride without spot or wrinkle which is a Hebrew idiom for false teachings and false prophets. This is the perfect Appointed Time for having the fire fall so that you may be sanctified and prepared for meeting The Bridegroom.

Luke 3:16 “I baptize you with water; but he who is mightier than I is coming, the thong of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie; he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.”
