Your Inheritance Has Been Stolen!

Colossians 2:16 "Let no man, therefore, judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days"
This verse is often used to justify the practices of anything other than what is found in The Bible. It becomes a wet blanket statement to try to squash any argument against unbiblical practices of traditions of men that have been practiced for approximately 1700 years. Why 1700 years? Because it was in the 4th century that Roman Catholic edicts were established banning any celebration of what they deemed to be "Jewish or Judaizing". This leaves a question to be pondered. What was the early church celebrating for the first 300 years after the resurrection?
When we original Greek manuscripts of this verse we find a completely different story. Let us see what is written and then you decide what is truth or tradition.
Let's examine what the original greek manuscripts say.
In the image on the right, you will notice that the word "in regard" has the same meaning but they were all translated as "in regard". This is very detrimental in properly translating this verse. Look at the last word translated as "regard" and you will see an entirely different word. In the original Greek the words “or in respect” is “meirei” which ACTUALLY means “SHARE, LOT, DESTINY" and can also be translated as inheritance.
The proper translation should read:
Colossians 2:16 "Let no man, therefore, judge you in meat, or in drink, or SHARE/LOT of a holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days"
The context being that former pagan Gentiles were now KEEPING the appointed times of The LORD and being judged for it. It was not an excuse for still holding onto their old pagan holidays, traditions, foods that they once ate and blood-drinking ceremonies.
Paul would never have told people to continue practicing the things that The LORD forbids. He would have been teaching lawlessness and rebellion against The Word if that was the case. No, he was encouraging these former Greeks who were now saved and had abandoned the worship of their gods.
Let us examine the word "merei-#3313" in the KJV Strong's Concordance to see what it means in order to make sure that we are properly translating the word correctly. As you can see in the image the word means "a part, portion, share." Loosely translated a inheritance.
The irony of using this verse to justify any other tradition or practice is odd since the three things mentioned are Appointed Times. They are set-apart times to gather according to The Bible which The Creator said would be celebrated forever, throughout all generations as a permanent regulation. In other words, Biblical holidays that were celebrated in the Old Testament, the New Testament and during the Millennial Reign. They are not the Feasts of the Jews, they are The Father's Feast/Holy Days.
Leviticus 23:1-2 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the Feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are MY feasts.
The keyword is share, lot, or Inheritance! The Messiah died and left you an inheritance! Now that you are grafted-in to Israel the same promises are yours as well. We now get to partake and receive the same covenant blessings that Creator promised to Israel when we keep His Feasts. Some of the religious Jews of the 1st century DID NOT allow or want gentiles to participate in what they thought was only for them. They believed that the gentiles did not get to partake in the covenant promises given on Mt. Sinai. Even though it was a mixed multitude (Jew and Gentile) that came out of Egypt. From Mt. Sinai The Creator said:
Exodus 12:49 ”There is one Law for the natural-born and the gentiles among you.”
There is no double standard in His Kingdom. For those of us in Messiah, there is no longer Jew or Gentile, we are ONE in Messiah. Your inheritance has been stolen by doctrines of man and twisting verses like Colossians 2:16 in order to justify practicing anything other than what The Creator told us to practice. Take hold of your inheritance and guard it because the Messiah died so you could receive the covenant promises and blessing of The Father and when He returns we are celebrating theses same beautiful feast once again.
All of the Appointed Times point to The Messiah and are full of rich prophetic meaning and fulfillment and we get to celebrate and remember Yeshua (Jesus) in every single one of them. You have been set free from Egypt! Don't bring Egypt with you and step into the freedom of His Word and His holidays that you can now enter into with all the blessings that come with them. Your inheritance has been restored.
