About The Event
FireKeeper's Tree Planting Event 2
We still have a few trees left to plant that did not arrive until after our first event last week was over. We need your help one more time and would love to see you all again! The holes are dug, we just need to put the trees in the ground.
Come plant! (a fruit tree or three) & Listen to a Native Story
Learn about the Standing People (Trees) from an indigenous perspective. What do they teach us? Hear a traditional story about a very special tree to the tribes in the southeast at the end of the day. Do you know the best way to learn? Through multiple learning styles - auditory, visual, and tactile! You will hear it; you will see it; and you will get the chance to actually be a part of beautifying the land by planting trees. There is even an opportunity to plant an Honor Tree in honor of your loved one, living or deceased.Â
Buy Trees!
Fruit trees are not always easy to find these days. Every year nurseries run out of fruit trees in high demand. On-site will be Love's Produce & Nursery, a locally-owned tree nursery with saplings available for purchase. It's not too late to get trees for your winter plantings!
Let's do it!
The class is FREE but donations to the hosting non-profit organization are gladly accepted (and are tax-deductible to you). Registration is required
