About The Event

Join us as we continue to prepare the land! After the day is over we will eat a traditional native meal, some songs on the drum, and a traditional story. We are getting things ready for our upcoming orchard planting and other exciting projects that are coming this year.

We Will Have Expert Education!

Tree removal is dangerous! The standing people / one-leggeds (the Native names for trees) are not always easy to lay down. But leading the tree removal process will be professional, expert tree remover, Noah Gordon along with his experienced team (both his siblings). You will pick up expert tree removal techniques and safety tips.

For those who cannot work a chainsaw don't worry! There are many ways that you can help to contribute. There is a place for everyone to be able to help and you will also be a part of taking care of FireKeepers International's land, giving back to create a safe haven for community in the future... and we are so grateful to you for helping!

Tools & Preparation

Things to bring with you:

  • Work gloves
  • Suitable clothing Boots (or other sturdy closed-toe shoes) Jeans, overalls, or other sturdy pants Cold weather gear (hat, scarf, coat)
  • Canteen or water bottle We will refill it & keep you hydrated
  • Tree-related gardening tools Chainsaw Pruning shears Limb lobbers Hand saws
  • A great attitude & a determination to work

WHAT IF IM NOT A LUMBERJACK?

Maybe you don't feel comfortable with a 2 horsepower-engine Huskqvarna chainsaw in your hands. But we still have plenty of things that we need help with on the land. Yes! We welcome your help!

We will have things that non-lumberjacks can do so don't worry! There are plenty of things we need help with. As you know, many hands make light work but many hands also mean many mouths to feed. So, come on out and meet others from the tribe who are making the vision happen on this beautiful land.

WHAT IF I DONT HAVE TOOLS

No chainsaw? No gloves? No protective eyewear? Tell our coordinator when you RSVP. And let her know what kind of work you are ready to do: whether it's yard work, tree-felling, barn-cleaning, water distribution, etc... there's something for everyone.

Thank you!

HOW TO RSVP

We need to have enough coffee and water! And we want to make sure this work day is as well-prepared as possible. If you think you might be able to attend, please email the FireKeepers International team at ratherbfarming@icloud.com and let's get working! We are so very grateful for you and for all you are doing for the Kingdom!
